The citizens of Flerm (a mystic land with the magic of Oz, the innocence of Whoville and the thrills of Narnia) have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas! Join our determined orphan Lucy and her fellow Flerms (yes, you read that correctly) as they stumble upon gypsies, an Elf King, fairies, ninja elves (again, not a typo) and a menagerie of magical creatures and despicable villains to recover the spirit of the season in the 2014 Prairie Arts Council song-filled, dance-spectacular, holiday musical extravaganza “Finding Christmas!” The show is an original script filled with holiday classics and scattered with timely pop tunes created by resident playwright and co-director Rachel Gorenz.

“Finding Christmas” was originally produced at the PAC stage in 2007 and has been tailored to fit the massive cast of 32 area children, ages 8-13.  21 of the 32 cast members are new to the PAC stage. Co-Director, David Gorenz says, “It’s wonderful to have so many new actors joining our children's theater program. They have all been doing a fantastic, overwhelmingly good job. I am busting with pride in our kids. This show is going to be terrific!”

The cast: Sabrina Bickett (Poppy), Makayla Heller (Lucy), Elizabeth Orwig (Mrs. Cronk), Maggie Davis  (Rainy), Chloe Sampson (Dora), Brennan Roden (Lena), Abby Davis (Nellie), Alexis Jacobs (Belinda), Vicki Tieman (Miranda), Ava Williams (Vanessa), Bianca Lanham (Esmeralda), Christian Smith (Invierno),  Keegan Fogarty (Celsius), Niklas Schneider (Fahrenheit /Mr. Hornswaggle), Alexis Alt (Isolde), Mia Bowen (Adele), Savanah Sims (Elise), Henry Bengston (Mistletoe), Ashten Wilson (Snowflake), Krysten Walowski (Kringle), Camryn York (Merry), Graycee Funderberg (Twinkle), Charlee Bourell (Tinsel), Reid Orwig (Elfis, The King), Elizabeth Boyles (Cilla), Luke Bowen (Wenceslaus), Ninja Elves: Miles Bengston, Dominic Vogel, Kai Walowski, Payton Walowski, Cole Walowski; and Flerm Vendors: Nora Schneider, Josie Edelfson, Devin Rossmann.

Will Lucy regain her throne in the face of the wicked King Invierno? Who will turn traitor next? Is that a reindeer in a dress? Come to see the show and join the adventure:  Performances are Friday and Saturday, December 5 and 6 at 7:30 pm and December 7 at 3 pm at the Prairie Arts Center Theater, 24 Park Avenue East, Princeton IL 61356, 815-875-2787
