Yatskiv’s Nativity

It’s
now been
about six months
since I went exploring for
Ukrainian artists, wondering
how they would be expressing
their recent experiences
.

the
subtitle
of that post was
‘wanting a shorter story…’

Here’s a link to it:

Unfortunately,
that story continues,
and I’m still praying
for them
.

Lyuba Yatskiv
is currently working in Lviv,
and I was happy to see her
mentioned in the recent
issue of Image Journal

Since
I’m writing
this in December,
I thought it would be a
perfect time to show some
of her beautiful paintings
related to the
Nativity
.

Here’s her ‘Annunciation’
The angel Gabriel visits Mary

I
don’t
really have
anything to say
about these paintings,
I just wanted to
show them
here
.

’tis the season!

Here’s
another beautiful
Nativity design
.

It
shows
the witnesses
surrounding the
birth of Jesus
;
Angels
Animals
Shepherds
The Magi
God

I love
the exposed
wood grain background
in her ‘Adoration of the Magi’

In
this one
she gives us her
unique interpretation of
the new family’s flight
into Egypt to avoid
the persecution
by King Herod

I
love the
brilliant colors
and the crisp design
in these beautiful
paintings

Thank You

ADDENDUM:

I decided to
‘support the arts’
by ordering a print
.

Let’s just call it a
Christmas Present
to myself
!!!

This is
“Noah’s Ark”

a square within a square
sets the framework of the story
The pairs of animals are magnificent
perfectly arranged
.

I
will
find a
special place
for it on my wall
.
