intelligence
lately,
this is
just a short
comment on
a modern
work
…
It’s not about
biblical art

The artist
Gerhard Richter
was awarded the 2002
commission to design
the south transept
window of the
Cologne
Cathedral
.
He used a
random number
generator to assign
one of 72 colors
to squares
of glass
.
Not completely
satisfied with the result,
he swapped a few colors
to achieve the effect
he wanted

(mathematically random doesn’t
always look visually random, but
that’s a subject for another article)

The finished installation
was unveiled in
2007
