of my paintings,

I’ve decided
to give it away

.

Earlier in the year 2020,
I was given the opportunity
to have my first art exhibit
hosted by the Prairie Arts
Center, a community
Theater & Gallery
in Princeton, IL
.

The paintings
I wanted to show
were all biblically-based,
and my wife was worried that
people wouldn’t understand
the images unless
I included the
bible verse
.
I used WordArt
to make some square
placards to hang
underneath each
painting,

..and also printed two
binders with descriptive
explanations in case
someone wanted to
learn more
.

The printed binders
were the beginning
of this book!
.

In the meantime,
I was getting VERY excited
.

To be honest,
by the time I saw my
name in the newspaper,
I was getting nervous
:

-=< O >=-

It took me awhile
to realize that I wasn’t
nervous about the paintings
or the exhibit, I was nervous
about publicly declaring
myself to be a
Christian
!

Would people hold me to
a higher standard now
?

Would they expect me to be
‘more Christian’
?

The Opening Reception
was one of the top
highlights of
my life
.

I was a bit overwhelmed
and might have had only
a hazy memory of this
if someone hadn’t
recorded it.

(I’m not
accustomed
to being in
the spotlight!)

a wonderfully
encouraging
experience

I decided to try
self-publishing the books
for Christmas gifts, and
felt a real sense of
accomplishment
when they
arrived
