Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said,
“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!”
And having said this he breathed his last.
I’ve never seen a view of the crucifixion from above,
but as soon as I thought of it I had to try to paint it.
Doing it this way had the added benefit of not needing to paint Jesus’ face, which would make me very nervous. In fact, I’m reluctant to paint ANY of the people in the bible, because if I meet them later on I will be embarrassed if they look completely different.
